I remember reading a book a few years back titled The 4-Hour Body by Tim Ferris.  For those of you that have been with us for a while remember that this was the hot gift during the gift exchange at our Christmas party!  One of the sections in the book addressed the issue of mobility.  It discussed the importance of mobility in injury prevention and longevity.  The author, Tim Ferris, went to the inventor of the FMS (Functional Movement Systems) who is considered one of the experts when it comes to identifying movement pattern dysfunctions.  Tim posed  this question, “Out of all of the numerous exercises that can be performed to better improve one’s mobility, if I was to place a gun to your head right now and force you to pick just three, what would they be?”  Well, do you know what topped his list????  You guessed it, The Turkish Getup!  I believe the other two were, single leg deadlifts and cross-body chops.

Today is your lucky day!  Our skill work for the day just happens to be the Turkish Getup.  Pay close attention, there are many steps.  Don’t get frustrated just have fun and realize that they will get easier in time.  This is one of my personal favorite exercises and you will soon see why!

Don’t worry, you don’t have to use a human we will allow you to use a kettlebell!
