HERE is a great article from the CrossFit Journal that deals with the question of ”What should we eat-and why?”.
Every 5 years since 1980 the United States Department of Agriculture has been telling us how to eat. The Dietary Guidelines break it down as far as what we should be eating. The question is……who is truly telling us what to eat? Is it the dairy farmers? The grain council? Maybe it’s companies like Kraft Foods, Inc (stock market value of $71 billion) Or, maybe it’s Nestle SA of Switzerland who boasts a market cap of $201 billion! Do you think they have much influence on what gets told to us in regards to what we should be consuming? Think about it.
“ The Dietary Guidelines, based on the most sound scientific information, provide authoritative
advice for people 2 years and older about how proper dietary habits can promote health and
reduce risk for major chronic diseases”.
The above statement comes from a press release dated January 31st, 2011 from The USDA. It is this “most sound scientific information” that we should be challenging!

My back would not allow me to do sumo deadlift high pulls so I subbed with just 20# kb high pulls and I could not squat to pick it up so I had it on top of box. Not even air squats felt ok.
