Many of you are at the beginning of the Best Shape of Your Life Challenge. For some of you, it’s your first nutrition challenge. Coupled with just getting the hang of a Paleo diet, the first week may have felt like a huge challenge in and of itself.
Depending on where you may have begun, the removal of highly addictive foods can trigger a bit of a withdrawal phase. Sugar is the biggest culprit and its removal will likely result in a feeling of lethargy. The key is to power through and know that your body will bounce back once it knows that the bad stuff will not be returning.
Sound off in the comments and let us know how the first week went for you. Any noticeable difference in energy levels? Has it been easier or harder to get the hang of a diet centered around only real food? Let us know how you’re doing in the comments.

The first week went pretty well for me, but I had some trouble at first when we went out to eat. I’m really surprised that I haven’t had any cravings for sweets or junk food lately, but its great not having that urge to snack.
I was doing ok, until my birthday, followed by a BBQ at someone else’s house where the only food other than the main course was chips. It’s also hard when I’m out with company all day and they want to go certain places to eat. I definitely had some snack cravings and bread & dairy withdrawals! I like cheese!
Two weeks into my new life style. Doing great no cheating at all! Today’s WOD was so hard but I finished. So glad I went I needed it. 26:23 not great but happy that’s alleluia I got to say.
The good news was there were no pullups involved today…YIPPEEEE!!!
