Eating out is generally thought of as the antithesis of eating cleanly. Although most restaurant chains and fast food establishments offer up foods that will steer you away from your goals of health and fitness, there are always options that can cause little to no damage to your clean eating plan.
Most of the time, you just have to be a little creative and/or ask for specific items to be left out of your order.
For instance, we’ve posted before on how to eat fairly cleanly at places like In-N-Out, Chipotle, and Pacific Pita.
Recently, Steve has mentioned that Teriyaki Ninja in Temecula offers a Paleo Bowl where veggies are substituted for rice. Also close by is Freebirds whose salads covered in grass-fed steak are phenomenal. You just have to make sure you build it right leaving out things like rice and beans. Another option is Islands. They have a protein platter with two beef or turkey patties topped with bacon, avocado, mushrooms and tomato over leaf lettuce.
What are some your favorite places and ways to order off the menu?
