Do you make resolutions every year around this time?
How do you ensure that you’ll keep these promises to yourself in the future?
Usually, these reminders are created in order to change some aspect of behavior to improve life for the better. Where many people fall short is with accountability. Successful resolutions are usually made through accountability. Keeping your promises to yourself can be easier when you make them public.
We have a goals board in the back so you can share them with the rest of the gym. The comments section is also a place where you can post them now and return to the comments in a year to see if you’ve stayed true to your resolutions. Another interesting option comes via Chris Friedland’s blog.
He points readers towards a service called Future Me. It’s simple. You write an email today and schedule delivery to your future self sometime next year. This may have the most impact with your own words checking back in at the end of 2012. Staying true to the future you were determined to create only 360ish days before could prove very interesting.
What would you tell your future self?
